My whole life has been an equestrian life. I got my first horse at the age of 14 years old and realised that I loved everything about them. The hard work that came with having them, seeing them every day without fail, twice if not three times a day, before getting the children up, off to school and going to work.

Over the years I had had a few falls, until the last one in 2015 put me out of action for over a year. My horsey days were over!

My partner bought me a camera while I was recovering and it didn’t take long before I realised that the passion I had for horses transferred into photography. The need to perfect every shot became an obsession. Everything I have learnt has been self-taught.

My passion is Night, Travel and Landscape photography.

I have come to realise that there are so many people who would love to take night sky images; Star trails, Milky Way images, and are either wary about going out on their own at night or want more understanding on how to capture that night sky.

If that is you, then check out my workshops and come along!

Here are some of my favourite examples of my night sky photography. Many of these are taken in the UK, where it can be challenging to find truely dark skies. However, I have also travelled to get some if these images, especially of the Northern Lights.

I run Night Photography Workshops.
Follow the link to find out more about the pre-requisites required and the next dates and availability. The courses are tyically about 3 hours long. To find the dark skies, most of them will be held in Dorset.

My passion isn’t just for nightime photography. Whenever I travel, or even when out and about in my local area, I am always looking out for the next image. Some of my favourite shots are taken very close to home. There are also a few of my pet dog, Onyx.

What people say?

I met Janette at a photo workshop in Utah several years ago. I later travelled to Iceland in a small group organized completely by Janette. The itinerary and lodgings were great. Janette was very knowledgeable about night photography, something I had not done previously. I came home with some amazing images and treasured memories. I wholeheartedly recommend Janette!

I traveled to Iceland with Janette in 2019. She planned the entire trip, which was well organized, and the accommodations were great. With my limited experience, Janette’s knowledge about night photography was invaluable. In addition, the trip was fun - she has a great sense of humor and we laughed a lot. I am looking forward to another trip with Janette!
